Robotics Abstract

A Visual Search and Rescue Robot designed for Introduction to Robotics, featuring remote Bluetooth control and target detection.

Vision CourierPal Setup

Overview

Vision CourierPal is a specialized robot developed through programming to address search and rescue challenges. It combines visual recognition with auditory signaling to assist personnel in efficiently locating targets in simulated environments.

Remote Control

Realizes remote control through Bluetooth technology, allowing operators to navigate the robot precisely from a safe distance during search operations.

Target Detection

Equipped with a camera and buzzer system to automatically scan for targets and emit a distinct sound immediately upon visual confirmation.

01 — HARDWARE

System Design

Constructed the robot using a modular chassis, integrating a high-resolution camera module for vision and a buzzer for acoustic feedback, all powered by an efficient onboard battery system.

02 — SOFTWARE

Programming Logic

Developed the control software to interpret Bluetooth signals for motion and process visual data from the camera, triggering the buzzer algorithm upon successful target identification.

Key Capabilities

Combining Robotics with Search & Rescue applications.

Visual Recognition

Utilizes onboard camera algorithms to scan the environment and identify specific rescue targets in real-time.

Remote Operation

Bluetooth-enabled control system allows rescue personnel to maneuver the robot safely through hazardous terrain.

Audio Alert

Automated buzzer response system that triggers immediately upon confirming a target location, alerting nearby teams.
